One important aspect of the object creation is that every time you add

an object to the 3D Viewport, a small menu appears at the lower-left

corner of your 3D Viewport. That menu displays some contextual

information regarding the created object.

For instance, when you create a Cylinder, it is possible to edit aspects of

the object like:

Vertices: The number of sides for the cylinder.

Radius: Distance from the center to the border.

Depth: The height of your cylinder.
